Monica Quinlan was Wasaga Beach’s 2013 defender and ultimately the winner! Her book, Crow Lake by Mary Lawson also won the People’s Choice Award. The coveted GBR trophy stands in the Wasaga Beach Public Library as a reminder until this year’s event.
As the moderator in 2012 and defender 2013, Quinlan has first-hand experience with the tactics defenders use to convince the audience that their book deserves to be chosen as the Canadian favourite.
Originally from Windsor, Quinlan and her family moved to Wasaga Beach in 2010 when she accepted the position as Town Treasurer. She is a fan of Canadian literature of all types and a voracious reader. She is passionate about sharing her love of reading, books and libraries with her four children.
Quinlan and her husband enjoy spending time with their children discovering all the amazing recreational activities the town and the region has to offer.
