Deirdre Kelly is a journalist, author and internationally recognized dance critic. She has written for Dance Magazine in New York and the Dance Gazette in London and is a contributor to the International Dictionary of Ballet.
The award-winning dance critic for Canada’s The Globe and Mail, she is currently the newspaper’s style reporter reporting on fashion and design. Her articles have also appeared in Vogue, Marie Claire, Interview, Canadian Geographic and Chatelaine magazines, among others.
Educated at the University of Toronto, she is the author of the national best-seller, Paris Times Eight, a Paris-inspired memoir, and the critically-acclaimed Ballerina: Sex, Scandal and Suffering Behind the Symbol of Perfection, named a Top 100 Book of 2012 by The Globe and Mail.
Married with two children, she lives in Toronto and owns a property near Thornbury, Ontario.
